Age Limit – Post-Wise (Key Posts)
Age limits differ by post and category. Candidates wondering about age relaxation can note that PwBD candidates receive an additional 10 years of relaxation over and above the prescribed upper age limit, and the maximum age for PwBD candidates shall not exceed 56 years in any case. Ex-Servicemen and Central Government servants are also entitled to age relaxation as per central government rules.

Application Fee
The application fee for UPSC Advertisement 07/2026 is nominal at ₹25 (Rupees Twenty-Five only) for General, OBC, and EWS male candidates. Female candidates of all categories, as well as SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates, are fully exempted from payment of fee. The fee can be paid online using Visa, Master, or RuPay credit/debit cards, UPI, or internet banking of any bank.

Important: Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
General Age Relaxation Rules
- OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation over UR upper age limit.
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation over UR upper age limit.
- PwBD (UR): 10 years; PwBD (OBC): 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years. Maximum age cap: 56 years.
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation, subject to the condition that continuous service rendered is not less than 6 months after attestation as on the closing date.
- Central/UT Government Servants: Up to 5 years, subject to 3 years continuous regular service in the same line or allied cadre.
